Another Drapery and Folds Illustration

Another illustration has been completed and has found its way into the “It’s A Wrap” booklet on doing folds and drapery. In this image here, I’m giving you a sneak peak of the layout, as I’m putting together the final touches of this project. I still have one final illustration to create, plus some more rounds of edits and then one final push and this book will be finished!

What excites me about this book is all the positive feedback I’m already receiving from those who have had a chance to look at it. Yes, the book is short. But that’s what makes it attractive. It is not bogged down with heavy jargon and deep theory. It is straight forward, to the point, and easy to navigate and reference. I admit, it’s not some huge thick reference book one might find weighing down the shelf in a dusty library. However, it is a perfect studio mate—not taking up much room—that one can pull out of their handy little satchels or designer handbag and quickly flip through for refresher information.

One artist called it “cogent.” Another referred to it as “a much needed guide.” “Clear” and “understandable” are also words tossed around in describing the instruction of the booklet.

This booklet will become a must have for artists of all skill levels, but especially the student artist. If you have not yet preordered, you can do so now by clicking on the link. Otherwise, please sign up for the mailing list to be the first to learn of its official release.

Cool 2018 Calendar (with my art)

I made a calendar. And I hope you buy it.

Yeah, okay, I know, it’s a little late. I didn’t think of it until after 2018 got started. But October, November, and December of 2017 were a bit rough for me physically, so not much was crossing my mind.

But now it is made. It is a compilation of my most well received Instagram posts of 2017. I think this is such a cool idea, I’m going to do it for 2019 as well. Except start earlier.

But until then, you can acquire this lovely calendar at Zazzle following the below link. And if you want to hear me praise the virtues of the calendar, you can watch this little flick here.

Hummel Illustration is now on Twitter!

Yes, I’ve been avoiding the Twitter for so long, but with Facebook now controlling Instagram and playing games with the algorithms, it can sometimes be difficult to reach my intended audience. To be sure you don’t miss an update, if you are on the Twitter, be sure to follow me @hummelillustrat. Connected with my Instagram (@hummeillustration), progress pics, tips, and updates will all be tweeted. Don’t miss out!
