Hummel teaches artists an easy way to draw realistic fabric.

Golden, CO Cherished Solutions, llc, in partnership with Art Studio Nation, is proud to announce the official release of It’s a Wrap! How to Draw Fabric Folds for Realistic Clothing and Drapery. After several months of research and writing and close to 40 illustrations later, illustrator, storyteller, and instructor Benjamin Hummel has finished his instructional workbook on drawing folds and can be purchased now, on Amazon.com for the list price of $9.95.

This book began in the classroom. While looking to teach students how to properly “see” and draw folds in fabric, Hummel jotted down a few notes while making a few diagrams that he could print and hand out to the class. Hummel observed these techniques dramatically transforming his students’ work. After a semester of doing this, he realized he had enough substance to gather into an informative workbook. Hummel’s typical laid back, conversational style of instruction, mixed in with his subtle humor, makes for an easy read. This conveniently compact book is a must have companion for the working art student.

Benjamin Hummel’s light-hearted illustrations have appeared in numerous children’s books, textbooks, magazines, and greeting cards. He also teaches illustration at Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design.

What makes Hummel’s story unique is the fact that he lives with a debilitating autoimmune disease which resulted in two liver transplants at the age of fifteen. To overcome his daily physical challenges, he creates art that encourages others to live rich and full lives. During the process of creating this book, some of the illustrations and some of the writing occurred during one of his multiple hospital stays dealing with this disease. Hummel’s motto: “Don’t let anything stop you from your dreams!”

Hummel documents his life, illustrations, process shots, and art tips on Instagram @hummelillustration. A full portfolio of his additional work can be found on his website: www.hummelillustration.com.
