Emily opening the time portal was the illustration I showed last week, but I didn’t provide any context. Here is a little snippet from the book that goes along with that illustration:
By the time they arrived at Room 314 later that afternoon, the Professor started class pretty much in the same manner that he had the last couple of weeks. “Okay, Jonathan! Cue up the next time ripple.”
The class sat around and waited for the next ripple to arrive. As the time approached, Emily closed her eyes. The headache was returning. Three… two…one… All of a sudden, in the center of the five teenagers, a round fiery ring appeared! It was no bigger than a softball, and it lasted only a few seconds. The light from the ring illuminated their shocked faces, and as they turned around to express celebration, they noticed Emily slowly waving her extended arms around, hands and fingers gently undulating. Her eyes were closed, and she was deep in concentration.
When the episode ended, Emily looked around. “What happened?” she asked. “I think you ripped the fabric,” Caleb replied.
