New Art: “Wormtongue Throws the Palantir Stone from Orthanc”

New art this time is, once again, a class demo. As a huge Tolkien fan and reading through the Lord of the Rings again, I was inspired to illustrate the scene where Wormtongue throws the precious Palantir stone out the window of Ornthanc at Gandalf, not realizing its value. What he intended for evil, turned out to be a benefit Gandalf, Aragorn and the others. This part did not make it into the film. However, I prefer the bookā€™s accounts better, which is why I chose to illustrate it.

The lesson for the students was three-point perspective and pen and ink technique.

Iā€™m not sure what to do next. Some have suggested that I digitally colorize it underneath. Some say I should leave it. I donā€™t know, what do you think? Let me know by leaving a message below.
